Glass Flamework


Flamework is a type of glasswork that uses gas fueled torch to melt rods and tubes of clear and colored glass. Once in a molten state, the glass is formed by methods of blowing and shaping with tools and hand movements.

The objective of the project was to develop a product that uses the flamework technique for a new application in utility or decoration.

The project started with different explorations of the technique. One of the explorations was further refined and then taken forward to design a functional product. The inspiration for the product came from trailing flowers.
